Miles of Bus Lanes Added Per Year

Bus Lanes

Methodology: Bus lanes are aggregated based on the first year installed - even if the type of bus lane is later changed. Records without a published distance have a distance calculated based on the shapefile.

Under NYC Local Law 195 of 2019 the term “protected bus lane” means a bus lane that is protected by physical barriers or is monitored by stationary or mobile bus lane photo devices that automatically produce an image of any vehicle that violates a bus lane restriction at the time of such violation. See 📊 NYC Bus Enforcement for details on camera enforcement of bus lanes.
