Automated Camera Enforcement helps make buses faster and more reliable by keeping bus routes clear.
In Aug 2024 ยง 1111-c-1 took effect enabling Bus Mounted Cameras to enforce regulations against parking in a bus stop, and double parking along bus routes. This complemented existing bus lane camera violations. MTA operates it's Automated Camera Enforcement (ACE) fleet of 1,600+ bus mounted cameras on 54 routes which came online in batches on Aug 19 2024, Nov 16th and Nov 30th 2024, July 18 2025, July 26 2025, Sept 15 2025, Dec 12 2025, Jan 9 2026, Feb 6 2026, and Apr 17 2026 with enforcement coming soon on May 13 2026 and Jun 13 2026 .
