NYC DOT Rejected Speed Camera + Red Light Violations

DOT records when a Notice of Violation is not issued because the license plate was unreadable in relation to speed camera violations under §1180-B and red light camera violations under §1111-A.

In January 2024 the NYC Comptroller office issued a Audit Report on the New York City Department of Transportation’s Speed Camera Program which recommended 5 changes to improve oversight of rejected speeding incidents, and to address the number of drivers circumventing violations with missing, temporary, and obscured plates.
